Maggie Lan - Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant

Before becoming an immigration consultant, I spent over 15 years in corporate communications with multinational enterprises across healthcare, manufacturing, and public relations in China. Combined with my MBA, this experience taught me how businesses operate, how deals come together, how global mobility supports expansion, and how important it is to get the details right.

I saw firsthand how complex corporate transactions unfold: stakeholder negotiations, due diligence, and the strategic planning behind significant business decisions. I learned to think like a business professional, not just someone who processes paperwork.

When I moved to Canada, I pursued formal education in paralegal studies and immigration law. I completed the paralegal education and earned my designation as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). I then spent years in Canadian law firms supporting litigation and providing immigration services. This hands-on experience taught me how to build evidence-based cases, navigate complex legal processes, and advocate effectively for clients.

Today, I bring both perspectives to every case. The business mindset helps me understand how entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals think. The legal training ensures that applications are prepared to meet IRCC's standards. For my clients, immigration is never a standalone process. It is deeply connected to business strategy, investment decisions, and long-term plans.

I specialize in business immigration because I understand that when you are buying a business, expanding operations, or transferring key personnel, you need someone who understands the business context, not just the forms.

How We Work

1

Schedule 1-1 Strategy Consultation

We begin with an in-depth consultation to understand your situation, assess your eligibility, and explore your options. This is not a sales call. It is a focused strategy session where we evaluate your goals, timeline, and the immigration pathways available to you.

2

Sign Retainer Agreement and Onboarding

If we decide to work together, we formalize the engagement with a retainer agreement that clearly outlines the scope, fees, and responsibilities. During onboarding, you gain access to our secure client portal where you can upload documents, track progress, and communicate directly with me.

3

Set Strategy and Prepare Application

We develop a tailored strategy based on your specific circumstances and goals. We then prepare your application to meet IRCC's evidentiary standards, including all supporting documents, legal submissions, and business plans where required.

4

Submit Application and Ongoing Advocacy

Once your application is submitted, our work continues. We monitor processing status, respond to IRCC requests on your behalf, and advocate for your case until a decision is reached. You receive regular updates so you always know where things stand.
